Creating A Collaborative Culture
Most schools have one or a few admissions coordinators and these are the individuals who meet prospective families and are the ones who create the first impression for new families. However, they need the support of many departments and staff members in order to give a better and more realistic impression of the school. Collaboration and good team work is what makes a good admissions department and what supports the admissions coordinator(s) with their work. This keynote will focus on how to establish a good and harmonious collaboration with the admissions department and the rest of the staff in the school.

"Anyone Can Do Admissions!" and Other Assorted Fairytales
Admissions is a very personal task requiring compassion, courage, empathy and a high degree of intelligence. It is not something that can be simply templated and streamlined and it requires the right person with an appropriate skill set in order to be done correctly. Matthew will be discussing the impact that Admissions has on the bottom line for a school and why you should be sitting at the Leadership Table.

Why a Transitions Programme is crucial in every International School
Join Claudine Hakim for an investigation of the International School of London’s award-winning Crossroads Transitions Programme.

Mobility amongst students, families and staff is part of being in an international school, but one of the critical factors in settling into a new community is the support received.  Moving to a new school and culture influences a child’s well-being and learning capacity. Our schools have a part to play in supporting the challenges whilst highlighting the positive aspects of being a ‘global nomad’.  Children who are emotionally secure will adapt to school life faster but they can only feel balanced and secure if the key people in their lives also feel settled.
Having a successful Transitions programme will enable your community to have a ‘soft landing’, feel they belong and prepare them for the next move.

Riding the Digital Wave: How marketing in schools is going paperless
Zoe will share with you her experience working in both a small budding school and a large established program. Both needed very different approaches in marketing & communications and with this, she learned how international families search for schools and ultimately choose the best fit for their child(ren). While many schools still find success in sharing their offerings in printed media and through word of mouth, today’s world is becoming more and more accessible through taps and swipes. Social media has transformed the way the world learns and communicates. The shift from printed media to digital platforms is well on its way and international schools need to keep up with the change in marketing in order to stay obtainable. Zoe will be discussing the some of the digital marketing practices her school currently use and how social media is revolutionizing the way in which the admissions office is able to promote the school. The digital age is not only the future. It is now. And international schools need to remain accessible to their global market. Zoe hopes to share how Southbank has adapted to this binary world and how they maintain their identity beyond London’s borders.
